Contractor standards
Every Insulation Finders partner confirms the following at signup before they can receive project requests in a market. This is a factual list of what we require and verify — not a guarantee.
What partners confirm at signup
- Legal business identity. Registered business name, business address, and primary contact.
- State contractor license. License number and issuing state, where required for insulation work in that jurisdiction.
- Insurance. General liability and, where applicable, workers' compensation coverage with named carrier.
- Real service area. The counties and ZIPs the crew actually services — not a national footprint claim.
- Project-type fit. Which scopes they handle (residential attic, spray foam, blown-in, crawl space, commercial warehouse, metal building, cold storage, etc.) so requests are matched to a crew that does that work.
- Up to two partners per market. We cap each request at no more than two vetted partners so homeowners get competitive quotes without a shared-lead auction.
What we don't guarantee
- We are not a licensing board and we do not act as a guarantor of contractor license status, insurance status, or work quality.
- License and insurance status can change after signup. We ask partners to keep records current, but we cannot promise real-time accuracy.
- We do not inspect or sign off on the work performed. That relationship is between you and the contractor.
What we recommend homeowners verify
- Ask for a current Certificate of Insurance naming you or the property before work begins.
- Verify the contractor's state license number directly with your state licensing board's public lookup.
- Search the business name on Google, the Better Business Bureau, and your state Attorney General complaint database.
- Get the quote in writing — scope, materials, R-value target, timeline, and total price — before signing.
- For commercial or multifamily projects, confirm bonding and prior projects of similar scale.
Reporting a problem
If a partner misrepresented their license, insurance, or service area, or if you had a bad experience with a contractor we matched you with, use the contact page to let us know. That feedback is how we improve the next match and how a partner loses a territory.
